SKI DAY

the Andes

looking back and down

Ski day was on Tuesday, August 8, and we went up about 2 hours into the Andes from Santiago to the ski resort El Colorado. The way up is a new experience for many of the students since the road is (in part) a series of hairpin turns on a mountain side. The view down is amazing. Do notice Becka´s face! But the road is well protected and the drivers are very experienced.

Occasionaly on the way up we see cows or horses grazing on the hillside. Occasionally there is a caballero who is a man on horseback who is a ranger for the area. They help anyone who needs assistance. Once we had to stop for a small herd of horses that was IN the road in front of us!
